I am coming to Bridging Communities after practicing as a Registered Nurse at Riverside Regional Medical Center in the Surgical Services department. Prior to that, I was assigned to the Medical/Surgical unit at Riverside Walter Reed hospital in Gloucester. One of my favorite aspects of nursing has always been mentoring new nurses and helping give them the confidence to care for their patients the same way they would want their loved ones cared for.

Having a diverse set of life experiences often helps one relate better to their patients. My first real professional experience after college was being commissioned as a naval officer. Landing a jet on an aircraft carrier taught me that there is nothing I cannot do. After I left the military I taught 8th grade science in Newport News for 11 years. Missing the time I volunteered as an EMT/Medic while in college I returned to school and became a Registered Nurse.
